Attention may be our most undervalued resource.

Why?

There are SO many associated costs.

Attention means "to stretch toward."

This means whatever you're paying attention to also costs you time, effort, and energy (at the very least).

What you pay attention to can also impact your identity and reputation (not to mention any financial costs).

What to do?

Pay attention with intention.

Intention means "to turn one's attention toward."

And here's the deal, you can control your intention.

How do you gain control of your intentions (and, by extension, your attention)?

Make yourself aware of what you're paying attention to, and consciously decide to stop paying attention to anything that doesn't serve your aspiration.

BTW, aspiration means "to strive for something higher."

If you keep your aspiration in mind as you set your intention for what you pay attention to, you can more easily recapture and reallocate your attention to invest in something that serves your aspiration.

Pay attention to what's essential, and you'll more effortlessly close the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

What are you paying attention to? Are you paying attention with intention? Is it getting you closer to your aspiration?
