The Good Life Gathering
What does it mean to live a good life? Philosophers, spiritual teachers, and ordinary people have been asking this question for thousands of years. Join us for a warm, open conversation exploring timeless wisdom traditions — and what they can teach us today.
Three Sundays This Spring & Summer
Each gathering meets at The Book House in Floyd, VA, at 2:00 PM ET.
- Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET: "What does it mean to live a good life?"
- Sunday, June 21st, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET: "What is within our control — and what isn't?"
- Sunday, July 19th, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET: "How do we find meaning in ordinary life?"
Good Questions. Honest Conversation.
Each gathering follows a simple format designed to be inclusive, accessible, and genuinely useful.
One question, many traditions
Each month we explore a single question through readings from Stoicism, Buddhism, Taoism, the Bhagavad Gita, and other wisdom traditions. Always at least two perspectives represented.
Facilitated, not taught
This isn't a lecture. It's a conversation. Scott Perry of Creative on Purpose guides the discussion, but the community is the brain trust.
No dogma, no proselytizing
We share what works for us and listen to what works for others. No tradition is positioned as "the answer." Curiosity is the only requirement.
Leave with something to try
Every gathering ends with a practical takeaway — not just interesting ideas, but something you can put to work this week.
RSVP
A head count helps us choose the right room — that's the only reason we ask. No account or opt-in required.
